My tour was cancelled 12 hours before it was due to start, and the reason was there will be a marathon in Rotterdam the next day. How can the organizers not notice this beforehand, but just cancel it the night before?

Die Führung war nicht (wie gebucht) auf deutsch. Außerdem sollte in der Beschreibung deutlicher stehen, dass die Grachtenfahrt nicht im Anschluss automatisch stattfindet.
