We just had a great ride a week earlier on the south island and wanted to see what things looked like on the north island. The wranglers were great! Assigned us good horses and provided awesome commentary and information about the area, the outfit, the farm land we were riding on. You ride among some sheep and cattle depending on where they are relative to the route. We were lucky to be there in the spring, so lambs and calfs abound and they provided some fun and unique experiences - like one calf mistook my sons horse for his mom and followed him for a bit until the wranglers reunited calf and cow. The ride is at a walk winding up to the lookout and what a view! We were lucky with the weather, mostly sunny, but got a short burst of rain on the way back. The horses responded by putting their rear towards it (as they naturally do), but without a fuss allowed themselves to be guided by the rider to continue down.
Fun ride, great view, great wranglers!
Thank you!
