Kapiti Island is one of New Zealand’s best-kept nature sanctuaries and a pest and predator-free haven for native birds. Take the ferry from Paraparaumu Beach to Waiorua at the northern end of the island. You'll be met by your local guide who tell you the unique history and stories of this place and will walk with you to help you identify the flora & fauna all around you. You'll have time for independent walking before enjoying a delicious buffet lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon you'll head back to the mainland by ferry.

Awesome day. Very well organised crew, slick but I never felt rushed. Boat ride was smooth and quick. Sophie was our personal guide and she was GREAT ! Really knew her stuff and very patient explaining all sorts to us. Delicious lunch provided for the trip we had. THANKS TO THE CHEF! Highly recommend this trip.

This is a MUST do trip in New Zealand. The trip is well organized and professionally run. We had sunshine and warm weather. Saw and heard lots of birds. Had some up close and personal chats with the Takahe. A beautiful day out.

An amazing day out to a beautiful island leading the way in conservation. The weather was perfect and our boat captain and crew were awesome. The guides on Kapiti are not just guides but are kaitiaki (guardians) who have a vested interest in this special place. The views were truly spectacular. We had native birds walking around us. The bush is pristine and quite a spiritual place that fills your cup and recenters you. The food was amazing too. Would highly recommend it.
