The best place we have seen so far. The work these people do for the kiwi is mind blowing ! Theresa, our guide was just so passionate & knowledgeable about these amazing birds. Your holiday will not be complete if you don’t go here!

Professional and well done. We saw several young kiwis running around in the nocturnal exhibit, saw two hatching, and saw chicks being weighed and checked. The tour guide provided great information about the state of kiwis in New Zealand. The Hatchery and the Agrodome had some of the best souvenir shops we visited in New Zealand, with lots of kiwi themed items. Worth a visit.

We mainly did the tour to support the good cause behind it and were so lucky to see 1 newborn baby and another young one handled by a carer. We also saw another little sleeping one and 2 foraging around in the nocturnal house. Our guide explained a lot and answered any questions. The only downside is that we were not allowed to take photos of the Kiwis because some people apparently forget to turn their flash off which is not good for any animal. We'd definitely do it again
