We had the opportunity to learn more about kiwis and observe them in their enclosure. Since the animals are nocturnal, darkness and silence reign, making for a wonderful, authentic experience.

One of the most underrated activities I did in New Zealand. So, so thoroughly enjoyable. I loved seeing the adult kiwis, and we got to spend a long time watching them. While it wasn’t quite hatching season when I went (darn!), we got to learn a lot about the breeding program, kiwi eggs, and conservation. I loved the whole thing. Only feedback is that I wish there were stuffed kiwis in the gift shop that didn’t make sound.

Very informative tour guide, obviously has a real love for her job, happy to answer any questions that any of the people/guests had, took her time and we did not feel rushed at all, Mia did a really great job with our presentation when we had our kiwi experience, I would highly recommend taking the opportunity to experience the kiwi experience, we will take the kids next time ????. Apparently January is a great time too so school holidays would be a good opportunity for the kids to see some kiwis. Not funded by government so all proceeds go back to the kiwi project. Looks immaculate there for kiwis getting the best care too. Keep up the great work ????
