While this is a worthwhile cause and our guide was full of facts and figures if you think you will see a kiwi you may be misguided. It clearly states on the brochure there is no guarantee. As it is not hatching season all you will see is where the kiwi eggs are hatched and some stuffed kiwis, a demo of the sound they will make with a stuffed toy and videos of what you might have seen in hatching season. The hatchery is not working in June. We were given about ten minutes in a room where there were 3 kiwis. Luckily we saw one.

Amazing experience!!! I really wanted to see a kiwi on our trip and was so happy to get a glimpse of two running around in there nocturnal enclosure. Very informative tour and love that all the ticket fees go towards the kiwi hatchery and helping to protect them. The hatchery is within the Agrodome which has tons of animals and a farm show and would be a great spot for kids/families.
