Last January, my wife and I traveled Down Under to Australia and New Zealand. I planned the details and just could not get any strong, positive recommendations from people who have traveled to Auckland, in particular, for a comprehensive "native" tour of everything surrounding the Auckland city area. So--I executed my own personal research and just had an incredible gut feel that Coast-to-Coast Tours--Donna and Stu--was the right choice. Most people we know have only been Down Under once, so it was critical that I did not make a mistake. Well, it turns out that this was the absolute highlight of our vacation, which took us to Sydney, Melbourne and every nook and cranny of New Zealand. And, yes, the Sydney Opera House was #2 on our list--true, believe it or not. This memorable and enchanting day, starting out with Stu picking us up in his small, intimate van and personally guiding us through the mesmerizing highlights surrounding Auckland proper, including the world famous Gannet Colony and Muriwai Beach, through a lovely lunch at a a local country club, then onto Donna and Stu's family farm to spend hours with their variety of animals, learning about sheep farming and partaking in Donna's wonderful afternoon tea in their lovely home--so yummy, I can still taste and smell the aromas of the tea and foods--is a day not to be missed!! If you want to learn everything you really should about this incredible, stunning country, New Zealand, there is no better way than spending the day with Donna and Stu, as we did. We will never forget it--never. And, by the way, I just didn't point and click this great day, I emailed and called Donna and her warmth and genuine humanity just oozed through the telephone and computer, half way around the world. I never had any doubt that I had made the right choice, from the beginning. My wife, Rhoni, didn't want to leave the farm either.
