    Your tour guide will pick you up at your hotel at 8:30 in the morning, and then you will visit the Forbidden City in Beijing, which is a representative of traditional Chinese architecture. As the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties (from 1420 AD to 1911 AD), a total of 24 emperors and their concubines lived here and ruled the whole of China. With the Hall of Supreme Harmony as the center, the broad southern side was the venue where the imperial family held various celebrations, while the northern side, mainly the imperial garden, was the place where the concubines and princes lived their daily lives. You can learn from the tour guide about the luxurious lives of the imperial family members and interesting historical stories of modern China.

  • Mutianyu Great Wall, Beijing, China
    Why did the people in the Ming Dynasty of China 600 years ago spend 250 years building the Great Wall with a length of 8,642 kilometers? Your tour guide will take you to climb onto the Great Wall and look into the distance together. The main purpose of building the Great Wall was to defend against the attacks of the Hun army from the north to the south. Of course, from a modern perspective, it might also be the result of trade protectionism. There is tranquility here, far away from the urban area. The Great Wall of the Ming Dynasty was built on mountains with an altitude of 800 meters. The wall is about 10 meters high and can accommodate 10 people walking side by side. The round-trip cable car or toboggan to the Great Wall is already included in this itinerary. It will take about 10 minutes to reach the Great Wall on the top of the mountain by cable car. After visiting the Great Wall, you will return to your hotel in the urban area at about 5 o'clock in the afternoon.

We decided to stop in Beijing for a day in-transit to see the Great Wall and the Forbidden City. Mark's team did a great job from beginning to end! May was an excellent guide and Su and Bruce were excellent drivers (Bruce even gave us a return gift on the way back). While it was very cold in Beijing in end of December, it was great to see these wonderful sights in the absence of large crowds. Highly recommended!

The tour was easy to arrange through Mark - he was very responsive and we were able to book it 5 days in advance. Our tour guide, May and driver were both timely and courteous. May was friendly and knowledgeable, she spoke good English and ensured we had an efficient trip.

I only contacted Mark through email after reading about great reviews about the tour. He was very responsive and easy to transact with. Sun was assigned to take us around and gave us the time we needed to go around the Great Wall (Mutianyu) and the Forbidden City. Sun was very accommodating, very good in speaking english, very nice and brought us to a great local restaurant. I am definitely recommending this if you want to go around Beijing. Thank you and hope to come back soon.
