A competent introduction for western tourists who are not familiar with the last two dynasties that are Ming and Qing, and are looking for whirlwind tour of the forbidden city.

Must book in advance, foreign visitors will need to bring your passport and a guide option is recommended. The city is vast and some areas might be difficult for those with reduced mobility that said there are always plenty of people around to help. Visitor numbers in winter are usually half those in the summer but be prepared Beijing can be cold in winter and there are few areas to get warm. The exhibition of pottery and jewellery is worth the walk and can be busy. One of two places which were on my bucket list now crossed off during my visit to Beijing

Wonderful tour of the Forbidden City done in about four hours. Not super in depth on history, but enough to give a very solid overview and see a great amount in four hours.
