It was good overall! Jimmy was very kind and professional, he picked us up at the hotel and accompanied us all the way to the Great Wall, we then had some free time to walk around. (Do not expect the tour guide to stay with you while you are on the Great Wall). Just a suggestion: I think that the tour narrative can improve a little bit, as I feel that most of the information we got was very general, didn’t have much details about the history / importance of the Great Wall. We visited during a work day, so it was not crowded at all. Keep in mind that it’s like a 2 hour drive from Beijing each way. If you’re looking for a private tour, stress-free trip I would recommend it, you don’t have to worry about anything (you just have to buy the tickets for the cable cars if you like, or you can walk to the top)

We contacted Jimmy just in the evening before the day of our visit to the Great Wall and we had, more than a driver, a guide, language facilitator and travel companion for our trip. We made the best choice, initially because we wanted to keep our luggage in a safe place as we had to go to the airport afterwards, but he offered us much more: help with the tickets and formalities, local food recommendations, a brief description of the monument, local legends and interesting details which made our visit to the Great Wall much more meaningful. We will definitely contact him again when we come back.

Jimmy was an excellent tour guide. He helped from the beginning by telling us a good location to book a hotel. His English is proficient. Everything went smoothly. Jimmy picked us up at our hotel and even helped us book tickets for the forbidden city for us to do after the Great Wall tour. We even left some personal items behind in Jimmy’s van and he was sweet enough to drop them off at our hotel later. 10/10 recommend.
