The gorge is half buried in water behind a high dam, still spectacular. The boat ride is mandatory -- the only way to actually see the gorge. (But you can climb to the ridgetop from the top of a gondola next to the dam, or from the village at the far end of the boat ride, a climb well worth doing.) Blending amusement park features with temples and wilderness seems odd at first, but it' fun (a long slide down from the dam, a series of pretty little diaromas in a tunnel, escalator to the top through a dragon sculpture). Note, in hot weather it is a lot cooler up here!
