I booked this tour because I wanted to see the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall and the beautiful Hong Luo Buddhist Temple as a less touristy alternative to the imperial tombs that would let me see a bit more of the mountains near Beijing. It was an excellent choice.
My guide, Tracy, was wonderful. She was as accommodating and considerate as possible and really made the whole trip so easy and pain free. She was a great resource, too, as she explained the history and details of the sights we visited and I learned a lot. She took care of everything: from being picked up from my hotel to getting dropped back off, I didn't have to lift a finger. And lastly, she was great company and made the journey fun.
As for the sights, I do recommend visiting the Hong Luo (or Red Shell) Temple because it's really peaceful and not crowded, with fresh mountain air. A nice respite from Beijing's bedlam.
