We pick up all guests from hotel lobby within 4th ring road of Beijing.

  • Jinshanling Great Wall, Luanping County, Hebei, China
    You will be picked up at the hotel lobby in the morning and drive to Jinshanling Wall which takes 2 hours. Once arrival, you will climb to the top and hike from west side to the east side of Jinshanling section. The hike is about 5-6 KM and takes about 3 hours. You have to be really physically in good conditions. During the hiking, you will come across many watch towers and barrier towers and see the difference between the renovated section and wild section. Also, you can see the Simatai Great Wall section from distance. Start the walk from East five eye tower then go up to the ruined towers. The difficulty of the hike is moderate. Along the way, you will pass through several famous towers: Black Tower, Lesser Jinshan Tower, Big Jinshan Tower.

We booked the trip the day before, only a couple of hours before our flight. We received confirmation and a personal text message before we took off. The guide and driver were on time and absolutely lovely. The guide taught us some interesting history on the way but also let us nap on the 3 hour drive. He accompanied us on the walk and made sure we were safe and then took us to a delicious restaurant for lunch. The wall was absolutely breathtaking and the whole experience was perfect. So lucky to have seen the wall during snow.

We booked our tour through Catherine Lu agency Tours. We have just arrived to this amazing city the day before being somewhat tired from a long flight. When we arrived to our hotel we were pleasantly surprised that our tour guide has already contacted the hotel to confirm the time. It was really reassuring. Our tour guide was Lena. She arrived earlier and introduced herself. What can we say. Thank you so so much Lena. It was an absolutely amazing day. Your knowledge of history, culture is superb. One of the best private tours one could have in their lifetime. Everything was superb. We are so impressed and would not hesitate at all to ask her for assistance next time. We had such a great day on the Wall. There is so much to see there. The lunch that she has organised in a local restaurant away from the touristy area was superb and the food was to die for. We really had a great tour. Kim and the driver met us on time at the exact spot agreed upon. The ride was comfortable and efficient, with Kim providing a background on the Great Wall and China as we rode. Her English was very good (better than guides we had elsewhere in China). We hiked from one side of the Jinshanling Great Wall to the other side (around 3 hours). This section has both restored and non-restored sections, and the views and towers were awesome. Very few tourists until we hit the section with the chairlift. Kim was a very positive and energetic guide and offered to take photos along the way. After we finished the wall hike, we had lunch at a local Chinese restaurant with surprising good food. Highly recommend.
