Erected in 1404, it represents Roland, paladin of the first Holy Roman Emperor Charlemagne. Roland is shown as protector of the city: his legendary sword is unsheathed, and his shield is emblazoned with the two-headed Imperial eagle.

Unsere Gruppenführerin Sabine war super lieb und auch total flexibel. Ich hatte im Vorfeld gefragt ob man die Route ein wenig ändern könnte und das hat sie ganz spontan nach unseren Wünschen getan. Wir konnten sogar zwischendurch einen Wein trinken. Sie hat uns schöne Sachen gezeigt und erklärt. Das Wetter hat uns da auch zusätzlich noch in die Karten gespielt. Es war ein toller Tag und auch nicht das letzte Mal , dass wir in Bremen waren. Ich kann Sabine nur weiter empfehlen.

We really enjoyed our walking tour of Bremen! Our guide Rima was wonderful! She took us to all the main points of interest as well as some hidden gems and shared so much information about the city along the way. I mentioned my desire to find German family members from long ago, and she was so helpful and continued to send me advice after the tour ended. We would highly recommend this tour!
