Our taxi driver and guide was Cecil. Cecil was an amazing professional and a super good person. He managed to explain the history behind the wall in a way that allowed us to have an honest discussion about a very complex and complicated situation. Many thanks to Cecil for making this an informative and personal tour of events that we all need to learn from. We highly recommend this tour to develop an understanding of community conflict, and Cecil is an excellent guide. In the words of my husband Oddur, "Cecil is the man for this tour". There are several so called Black Taxi tours of Belfast the one I can highly recommend is Blacktaxitours.com and their tel # is 07702060573 book direct as the original booking I made though Tripadvisor never got through and I had to rebook direct for the following day . Ask to be taken on the tour by Brendan . He is a guy who had lived through " the troubles " and gives a totally impartial detailed explanation of everything past and present. I am 73 yrs old and really though I knew everything there was to know about the political and daily life of Belfast and very quickly realized that my understanding and perspective was completely wrong. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Belfast young or old.
