    We start our tour with a visit to the Titanic Memorial Garden in the grounds of the City Hall where you’ll hear how Belfast became the Ship Building capital of the world during the Industrial Revolution. See the names of all those who perished in the disaster and hear how the amazing story of the men who built the ship.

  • Big Fish, Belfast, United Kingdom
    Walk along the Lagan to the “Big Fish” where you’ll hear about the legendary giant Finn McCool and you’ll also see the Custom House and the Albert Clock, Belfast’s own “leaning Tower”. We walk over the Lagan Weir Footbridge as we head over to the Titanic Quarter. Along the way you’ll hear about the Ship Building history of the city which dates back over 300 years.

  • SS Nomadic, Belfast, United Kingdom
    We come to Belfast’s Marina and take in a magnificent view of the Titanic Quarter including the SSE Arena, the SS Nomadic and the Titanic Visitor Centre. There will be time to grab a coffee at this stop. Here you’ll also be introduced to the SS Nomadic, the world’s last remaining White Star vessel which was built in Belfast and was used to transfer First Class passengers out to the Titanic in the port of Cherbourg for her maiden voyage. The tour will not go on board the Nomadic but guests may want to tour the ship after the walking tour is finished.

    We walk to the Titanic Visitor Centre which contains the biggest Titanic exhibition in the world (the tour does not include a visit to the exhibition. Can be booked online). You’ll walk on the slipways where the Titanic and her sister ship the Olympic were built side by side and discover many local stories about the ships construction.

    We stop at HMS Caroline, a war ship and unique survivor of The Battle of Jutland in World War One. This floating museum may be one of the many attractions you want to investigate after the walking tour ends. Admission price not included.
  • Thompson Dry Dock, Belfast BT3 9AD, Verenigd Koninkrijk
    We finish our tour at the Titanic Dock and Pump House. The Thompson dry dock was the largest in the world and built specifically for the Titanic. Here you can grab a snack in the Pump House before deciding if you want to enter the Dry Dock and feel it’s size and imagine what it was like to work here fitting out the Titanic.

I would highly recommend the Titanic Trail walking tour. I joined the tour with some relatives who where visiting Belfast and wanted to get a sense of the city. As a Belfast native I thought I knew the city’s story. But our excellent guide Aidan brought to life the many detailed aspects of the city’s industrial past, its main players and the legacy that was left on the city. We found the tour really interesting and learnt many new things about the city I live in. Aidan did a great job at carefully explaining the city’s past as he guided us from City Hall across the River Lagan and out towards Harland & Wolff shipyards. Aidan’s insights and knowledge made for a very enjoyable tour and definitely one to put on your Belfast bucket list! As a group we thoroughly enjoyed the Titanic Trail walking tour, it was the perfect way for my relatives to see Belfast all whilst learning about its unique past. Special thanks to our guide Aidan, he was super helpful, knowledgeable and great craic!

I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this 2.5 hr walking tour. We met Aidan at the City Hall and before leaving each participant was provided with an audio receiver and headset. The technology worked perfectly and facilitated social distancing throughout the tour. It was obvious that Aidan had a thorough knowledge of the history surrounding the building and fate of the Titanic. His commentary was interesting and perfectly paced. The stop for a bathroom break and coffee was perfectly timed! This is a tour that will be of interest to both locals and tourists to Belfast. Thanks Aidan.

An excellent overview of Belfast’s shipbuilding past with detailed information on the building of the Titanic. Brilliant to visit the slipways and dry docks and see parts of the city I’d never visited before. Recommended for locals (you will learn things about your city you never knew), and for tourists. Aidan is an excellent guide providing factual information interspersed with personal stories - his father and grandfather both worked in Harland and Wolfe.
