Halong Orchid Cruises

Beautiful cruise boat. 5 star experience. Rooms are huge. 2 nights 3 days. Food was ok, catered more to the 50s+ Caucasian pallet, rather than traditional Vietnamese dining. David the host/ manager was wonderful, however did do the classic family sob story at the end of the trip to drum up tips which I found was unprofessional. Colada was our personal host/ waiter/ all round go to man. Although he is still learning English, he did his very best to communicate, stay positive, patient and full of energy consistently for our trip. He was lots of fun!! Green also looked after my mother (66years) and made us feel very welcomed. Unfortunately Halong Bay itself is heavily polluted and boats dispose sewerage waste into the water as well. Not recommended to swim at all. I would highly suggest more physical activities be offered for the younger people. Example, hiking, kayaking relay? And more board games be offered on the boat.

We had a wonderful trip aboard the Orchard Cruises Classic with our two young children for a 2-day, 1-night cruise. The staff, especially Ms. Anna, Mr. Tony, and Mr. Louis, provided impeccable, warm service and constant attention to detail. The rooms were spacious and well-appointed, and we enjoyed all of the beautifully prepared food and beverage options. The cave excursion and kayaking are not to be missed - both provided additional, different views of Ha Long Bay's stunning beauty. Absolutely recommend for all travelers, including families with young children.

Our waiter Smile was excellent, the rubbish in the bay and polluted water was a little off-putting but otherwise the room and service were excellent
