This unique Amazon experience enables you to experience the jungle in a unique way. Cuyabeno is one of the most biodiverse nature reserves on Earth. There, you can spot over 500 bird species, 100 mammals, and over 400,000 plant species. In addition, enjoy local food, canoe rides, paddling, and swimming for the more adventurous! During those 5 days, you will learn more about the 5 indigenous ethnic groups living along the banks. Waita Lodge is the only community-based lodge of the reserve. Therefore, by booking with Ecuatraveling, you contribute to the economic growth of the area. On top of that, Waita is an ecolodge, so staying there ensures environmental conservation and cultural preservation. Those are extremely important since Cuyabeno Reserve is under threat from the oil industry and deforestation and it is critical to ensure its sustainability through travel!

Return Details

Nueva Loja, Ecuador Arriving at approximately 16:00 on the last day, the guide will either drop you at the bus station to take the bus or at the airport to take the plane back to Quito.

Amazing stay with best guides. Not a single hour of boredom, plenty of animals seen, a lot of knowledge gained, much fun had :) A lot of tasty food suplied. Accomodation was great with some visits of wildlife (mosquito nets kept us safe). Life changing experience for sure. Thank you.

I did a four day Amazon tour with the Cuyabeno Dolphin Lodge and had an amazing time! I booked my tour with Ecuatraveling and was hesitant at first because of the lack of reviews on the lodge, however the lodge did not disappoint! Our guide was very knowledgeable about the area and was able to speak in fluent english as well as spanish. The accommodations were good, especially for being in the middle of the Jungle. The beds had bed nets and were were provided with towels, as well as a biodegradable soap, ect. Everyday someone would come and clean each room too. The food was tasty and filling as well. The area was absolutely beautiful and despite the rain, we were still able to do all the activities and have an excellent time. Don't let the lack of reviews deter you from booking a stay with them. This lodge is fantastic and I, along with everyone in my group, had the time of our lives!

Thanks heaps to all the great team at Ecuatraveling, they did a great job and helped me out with a bunch of other activities around Ecuador. I ended up extending my 4 day trip to a 5 day trip and absolutely loved it. Thanks again guys!
