We're experienced hikers, but this was challenging (but not exhausting in the way a hike might usually be) because of the heat and humidity. We did the climb up in two hours and about an hour the way down, but it is steep almost entirely up and going down is a moderate incline almost entirely down. The scenery is stunning and well worth it, however. I strongly recommend our BRILLIANT guide, Made, who checked in with our group of 4 right the way through, was happy to stop as often as we needed, and on one occasion very kindly held my backpack for a short while to help me cope with a section of the climb. She also shared her local knowledge of the area, which was insightful. She was professional and very friendly.

Our guide and driver were right on time to scoop us up. It was crazy cloudy at the top so the sunset didn’t show up, but the views were still next level.

Mawe was an absolute legend guiding us up the mountain. The weather didn’t exactly cooperate (nothing you can do about that), but we still had a blast in the afternoon. Shoutout to Erli too—he took us to this super chill coffee plantation on the way, which was a nice touch. The whole crew really nailed it and made the day solid.
