Explore culinary arts like never before! Black Food Tour showcases the vibrancy of Black-owned restaurants, culture, and cuisine - visiting up to 5 local partnering restaurants. Tours are led by Oakland natives who share more about the changing landscape, art, culture, and history of Oakland while guests enjoy food all over the globe. **NOTE*** 1 Week Recommendation: We recommend booking your tour at least one week prior to your selected tour date as this allows time to coordinate with our restaurant partners. If a selected tour date is chosen and is less than 1 week away, we may not be able to accommodate the tour. Low Attendance Cancellations/Reschedules: If within 3-5 days of the selected date, the tour is booked with less than 4 people, it may be cancelled due to low attendance. If cancelled, guest will receive the option to reschedule or receive a refund. If you have a group larger than 6 guests, we recommend booking a private tour.

The Black Food Tour was excellent! As a local, I've dined at some of the restaurants on the tour, but the curated item selection, experience, and incredible hosts made me feel like I was visiting the area for the first time (in the best way)! Ari and Tiff were great and engaging hosts. I especially love their diligence in providing historical context about Oakland throughout, and the respect they paid to Black restaurant owners. If you want to get a taste of some of the best spots in Oakland, I'd highly recommend this tour.

The Black Food Tour is like visiting your foodie friend and having them take you to their go-to spots, ordering all the best dishes. The food was so abundant I started feeling full early in the tour and was wondering how I would keep eating, but as soon as the plate was put down in front of me and I saw the beautiful offerings, my magic stomach made space! It was an impressive display of the Black culinary scene in Oakland, so flavorful, creative and nourishing. I was especially pleased that on our tour there were several plant based restaurants! Tiffany and Ari are knowledgeable, fun and warm, it really reinforced that feeling of just being out with friends. The care and thoughtfulness Tiffany has put into all aspects of the experience is evident. From who she collaborates with, the relationships she's cultivated, the curation of the menu, to the route we walked to highlight other establishments and art. In this time where rapid gentrification threatens to displace Black community in Oakland the Black Food Tour is as necessary as it is delicious. I could not recommend more.
