Ultimate Hierve el Agua Hike + Textile Art

This trip was incredible! Exactly what I needed to completely regenerate me to get back and teach the rest of the school year! Diego, our guide, was very warm and welcoming. I was with two young women who were hiking super fast down the mountain to the river (very cool art of the trip), and I just wanted to take my time more and really notice the beautiful scenery I was experiencing. He hung back with me, there was another guide from the area there, and we had pleasant interesting conversation. I would highly recommend the company's tours!

You will find many tour options for Hierve el Agua, but if you are not just wanting a standard tourist visit, THIS is most definitely the one to take. First, Hierve el Agua is stunning and you should definitely see it/bathe in it if you are in the area. Second, Coyote Adventures takes this tour to a whole different level by giving you so much more to experience - the most delicious and traditional breakfast and lunch you will every have, a hike to the base of the petrified falls (beautiful view) before dipping in the pools themselves, a hike across the incredible mountain landscape with agave and madrone to visit a waterfall pool unknown to most tourists, and a visit to a weaver's home in Teotitlan Del Valle with an interactive presentation on the whole process from carding to dying to weaving the wool. Marlene was our fabulous guide who knew so much about the nature and culture of the region and was well-connected with the local guides - we learned a lot and really enjoyed her company. Coyote Adventures practices excellent eco- and community-supported tourism. **Highly recommend this trip!**

We couldn’t be happier with the the the day trip we had yesterday. Our guide Armando was professional, friendly, alert and knowledgeable. He is also a very clear communicator. We had remarkable access to the areas around the the famous “stone” waterfall. The Coyote tour starts early but this gave us access to the the refreshing pools before the crowds arrived (and they were definitely arriving as we left). Then the hike to the much more hidden waterfalls which are in a unique little stone canyon-like nothing we’d ever seen before- where we swam again. Snacks and drinks were available like magic every time we needed them. Then the late lunch at the home of a wonderful weaving and wool dying family was served to us. Everything beautifully prepared and delicious, followed by a detailed lesson/demonstration of the wool processing and natural dying techniques. Highly recommend!
