Originally had done this booking for Oct 31 but the tour operator suggested to hold off until Nov/02 which we did. Nov 02 is the traditional day the locals all celebrate at the graveyard. Very interesting, some amazing presentations of the people's faith and their devotion to honoring the memory of their ancestors and loved ones. We have participated in the parade in Mazatlan, the swarm of kids on the Malecon in Puerto Vallarta and the festivities in Cancun area but nothing as close to the true experience we had with this tour. Bring lots of candy, many kids. Total chaos at the graveyard, a little crowded but we still enjoyed it. The smell of Candles, Copal and gunpowder from the fireworks everywhere. Be respectful and if you ask permission the people are very happy to share this intimate time and allow pictures of some of the creative work they have done on home chapels and at the graveyard. . Highly recommended. Tour guide Ricardo from Homietours was excellent.. If you are here at the time do not miss this.
