This lagoon, surrounded by mangroves, is home to microscopic organisms that emit phosphorescent light when the water is agitated.  Plan your trip for dusk and then take a boat ride onto the lagoon. As the water is disturbed, you'll see an eerie light illuminating the waters below.  Wave your hands or drag a stick in the water to make the water glow in the dark.  Those who wish can swim in the luminous waters as well.  (The lagoon is about 4-5 feet deep at the center.)  Boats leave from the Glistening Waters Marina, where there is also a restaurant and nightclub.  Visitors can enjoy dinner at the Glistening Waters restaurant while watching the bioluminescent show on the water.

We pick up all travelers from all hotels in Ocho Rios. If you staying in the hotel there driver will have a sign with the company name.

    Your night tour will begin from the gate of the Hotel in which you vacates at 5:30pm or 6pm, on our journey down you will past by the well known attraction Green Grotto Cave in  Discovery Bay, continuing you will past by the Bauxite Aluminium mining company (Naranda) which is also in discovery bay then we will pass by the Columbus park heading onto the queens high now in the parish of Trelawney, this is a well known parish where the Jamaican athlete Usain Bolt is from (the fastest man on earth).Falmouth is the capital of Trelawney and  this is where the luminous lagoon is located.  Now we are at the most excited part where you will get on the boat, cruising in to the lagoon, have the opportunity to swim, dive, take photos of the glistening water, as your entire body glows in the water, at the end of this tour, on your return of such promising excitement, enjoyment and fun you will have the choice to stop and have a drink while professional entertainer will have u well entertained.

I dont even know where to start! From the minute Winston picked us up from the hotel with his BIG smile, I knew this would be a trip ill never forget. Winston picked us up ahead of schedule so we enjoyed a beautiful car journey to the lagoon, and went through the amazing history that Jamaica holds. It was my first time in Jamaica (Jamaican heritage) and Winston made me feel so at home. I honestly felt like I was driving with one of my Grandads friends ???? i mentioned wanting to get some guineps during my trip and Winston jumped out the car and grabbed me the biggest bag, no questions asked ????????. We arrived at town lagoon with plenty of time to watch the sunset and talked about life (and the benefits of beetroot) until the sun went down. When I tell you Winston looked after us!!! Welcome drinks and wristbands sorted before our front row seats for the fire breathing show. Absolutely breathtaking moments well before the boat trip had even started. Well respected man so everyone took great care of us under his guidance. As for the luminous waters.... a phenomenon words can never do justice. God really blessed us with the brightest day because the organisms were glowing under the stars. If you're not the best swimmer, life jackets are available. The water if no more that 5 feet deep and you get plenty of time to swim and enjoy! I crammed plenty of things into my short trip home but my time with Winston to the lagoon really sits on my heart ❤️ an experience everybody must have and only with Winston ???? Winston, if you get a chance to read think, thankyou for bringing me the most special moments that will last a lifetime and more. I can't wait to visit you again share some more stories/experiences over your sweetcorn and avocado when I'm back next year ????????❤️ Side note.... you can take pictures and videos until your hearts content. Just no flash, so it doesn't interfere with the microorganisms and the rest of the groups professional pictures (£8-£14 if you choose to keep them and sent directly via Bluetooth ????????)

Nothing like the pictures. Hardly any blue. The boat ride was very enjoyable. Water was mostly warm with some cool mountain water flowing in.
