  • The International Driving Permits that Japan will allow is the 1949 Geneva Act. Each country has its own assigned agent (usually a major roadside service company) that is allowed to issue a 1949 Geneva Act Driving Permit. There are no agents that will issue a 1949 Geneva Act International Driving Permit over the Internet. Also, the driving permit is a booklet and must have the word 1949 Geneva, or the date of the actual convention, September 19, 1949 on the cover of the permit. “Rambo” was our guide for our 2 hour drive around Naha. There were many areas where we went at a fast clip, while others were slower due to traffic. Some parts of the road were bumpy which made it feel like driving an ATV. Wearing a costume was fun and tolerable despite the humidity of the summer due to the breeze from our zipping along the streets. If you have to choose between the beach/snorkeling and this, this wins hands down. You can’t do this in the US. Maui’s fish are more plentiful, diverse, and colorful than Okinawa.

Great time! Fun, fast and safe. Hulk Hogan was a great tour guide! We visited Senagajima Island and stop by the shops all while touring Kokusai street at night! It was beautiful all lit up!

Went with work and had a great time. I recommend doing it at night or in the winter. But overall excellent experience. Our tour guide was amazing.
