The center is named after Heydar Aliyev, the first secretary of Soviet Azerbaijan from 1969 to 1982, and president of Azerbaijan Republic from October 1993 to October 2003.

We had the pleasure of exploring both the old and new parts of Baku with Ali, and it was truly one of the best guided experiences we’ve ever had. Ali is incredibly knowledgeable and shared so much fascinating history and cultural insight with us throughout the tour. His passion for Baku and its heritage really shines through. He also took us to a local restaurant he recommended for lunch and the food was absolutely amazing — a real highlight of our day! Beyond being a fantastic guide, Ali is a warm, friendly and kind human being who made our family feel comfortable and welcomed at every step. Thanks to Ali, we left with a deeper appreciation of Baku and some wonderful memories. We highly recommend booking a tour with him — he will definitely make your Baku trip a memorable one! Bonus: He is a great photographer too!
