    From Muscat through Al Hajar Mountains via Fanja and Sumail to NIZWA Discover the history of Oman, visit Nizwa, the historic former capital with a local guide who will let you learn all about culture and tradition. You will also visit Bahla Fort and the Jabreen Castle. This is an interesting journey into the ancient realm and history.

    About 140 km from Muscat, past the Al Hajar Mountains, you will reach the city of Nizwa, which was once the capital of Oman and a renowned center for trade and Islamic education. Attractions such as Nizwa Souk, Nizwa Fort, Jabreen Castle are some of the important stops on your tour that have both historical and architectural significance. You will visit the cattle market (only if you do the tour on a Friday). The markets here in general will take you years back because the local community has been selling their animals and herbs, fresh omani halwa and traditional weapons for hundreds of years. A German speaking tour guide can be booked for an extra charge if available.

    An old castle where a photo stop is very interesting to get an insight into the ancient history of Oman.

Mit Rahema ist es immer einen Ausflug wert. Nicht nur das wir das Hinterland, die Geschichte und Land&Leute kennen gelernt haben. Rahema ist auch immer für eine Überraschung gut. Mit Abweichungen von der geplanten Route lernt man auch das Land rechts und links der Straße kennen. Der krönende Abschluss war, allerdings ungeplant, Muscat bei Nacht. Ein toller Ausflug.
