Nizwa Souk, Nizwa, Oman The site of one of the oldest souqs in the country, this extensive marketplace is dedicated mostly to fruit and vegetables, meat and fish, all of which are housed in separate blocks behind the great, crenellated piece of city wall that overlooks the wadi. Part of the souq (nearest the fort) is dedicated to handicrafts and caters specifically to the passing tourist trade. 30 minutes
Nizwa Fort Oman, Nizwa, Oman Nizwa Fort — the most attended monument of Oman. The fort was built almost 370 years ago and it’s based on the stream of water underneath. Surely, it’s one of the best castles of that period worth seeing. Then we’ll make a visit to Nizwa Souq. At the market you can buy traditional knives, pots and other unique items. 60 minutes
Jebel Shams, Al Hamra, Oman Oman’s highest mountain, Jebel Shams (Mountain of the Sun; 3009m), is best known not for its peak but for the view into the spectacularly deep Wadi Ghul lying alongside it. The straight-sided Wadi Ghul is known locally as the Grand Canyon of Arabia, as it fissures abruptly between the flat canyon rims, exposing vertical cliffs of 1000m and more. 30 minutes

Our two guides were wonderful. We were a group of 8 people and the guides picked us up from our accommodation at 8am. Our two guides were courteous, funny, informative and couldn't have been more helpful. Both guides spoke very good English. They took us to Nizwa (Souq and fortress), Wadi Ghul and Jebel Shams. The souq of Nizwa is much more interesting and authentic than the souq in Muttrah. The entrance to the fortress in Nizwa, water and lunch was provided. During our conversations with the tour guides, we learnt a lot about the history, economy, culture and food of Oman. I highly recommend this tour. An unforgettable experience not to be missed!
We always double-check the availability with our local partners for each booking. Even though this is usually a swift process, it can take up to 24 hours. Once this process is completed you will receive your voucher or ticket by email. If our local partner is not able to confirm your booking we will offer you the best possible alternative. If the new date and/or time doesn’t fit your itinerary, we will reimburse the full amount paid.
