Algonquin Park has a rich history of being an endless source of inspiration for artists, nature lovers and outdoors enthusiasts. In the winter, the park is transformed by snow and ice and is a truly magical place to visit! In this road trip we will do several stops on the way there so you can take the best pictures and appreciate the magnificent views. Once we arrive at the park, we will start a winter hike! You have the option of hiking in your boots or with snowshoes we will provide the snowshoes for you) with your guide Javier giving you some tips to feel like a pro! Following the hike (and time permitting) we will visit the Algonquin Park Visitors Centre which has a viewing point, interactive museum, gift shop, washrooms and a place to have a snack.

  • Oxtongue Lake, Algonquin Highlands, ON P0A 1H0, Canada
    This will be the first of many lake that we will encounter just at the gates of the park. Great pictures opportunity

  • Lookout Trail, Canada
    This interpretative trail offers a unique scenic view of the park. It is a 1.7km loop where we will be gaining an elevation of 230 meters

  • Spruce Bog Boardwalk Trail, Canada
    This interpretative trail offers an amazing opportunity for the bird lovers, we will encounter some of the native birds to Algonquin Park and it is not uncommon to see other signs of wildlife at this trail.

  • Algonquin Visitor Centre, Canada
    Here you will be rewarded by a magnificent view of the park and also here at its museum you can learn about the history of the park. This is the perfect opportunity for those who want to buy souvenirs.

Another amazing trip run by Javier! As always, am so impressed by how knowledgable and experienced he is, and the passion behind what he does which is infectious. The park trails were beautiful, some highlights included walking on a frozen lake and getting up close and personal with some wildlife bird species you don't usually see in the city! And as always, Javier makes sure to prioritize safety first so that we all end up having the best time. See you again soon!

I had an incredible experience with Toronto EcoAdventures led by Javier on a winter hike trip to Algonquin Park. Javier's expertise and enthusiasm made the experience unforgettable. The breathtaking scenery, combined with well-planned activities, created a perfect balance of excitement and relaxation. Highly recommend for nature enthusiasts seeking a top-notch adventure!

It was our first hiking in winter in Canada and we couldn't be pleased more with how the whole thing went. The trip was well organized, on one hand, there was no rush, and on the other - we managed to cover three trails instead of two. One thing I'd like to single out - the experience of standing in a winter forest in complete silence is really something. It's behind words... Thank you, Javier.
