Take a break from the bustle of Toronto and head into nature for a day. Visit Canada's oldest provincial park on a guided excursion. Get picked up from the meeting point and drive to Algonquin. Spend an enriching 6 hours at the park snowshoeing, hiking, spotting wildlife, canoeing, and swimming (depending on the time of the year, joining the tour). Spring - Moose watching and wildlife spotting time. We will hike Mizzy Lake Trail or similar trail (10 km, good for beginners and intermediate hikers). Summer/Fall - You can choose between hiking tour only or hiking and canoeing. On our hiking tour only, we will hike around 10 km/day and on our hiking and canoeing tour, we will hike 3 km, canoe for 1,5 hours, swim and relax on the beach. Winter - Strap on a pair of snowshoes and venture into the wilderness, leaving footprints in the untouched snow. Snowshoes are included. While there are many trails to choose from, we will pick one that offers the best lookout points.

Lovely tour with wonderful guide (Mike) to spent a day in the beautiful nature of Algonquin park! The walks and activities are suited to the season and weather conditions and you are informed what to bring . When I did the tour (end of April) the possibilities were somewhat limited due to the conditions on the trails, but it was a beautiful day and during three walks we enjoyed marvelous scenery and views, and met many curious chickadee birds.

Much of the tour was as expected. The long transfer was no surprise - and at this time of year there was no viable option to make arrangements to stay overnight and enjoy the amazing park. Mike was a great driver and guide and we felt very comfortable. There are pros and cons to doing the tour in late October: On the plus side, there are very few tourists, so the park is more secluded. On the other hand, the forest had lost most of its colours, there were no animals to be seen and no activities other than a few short hikes. The main reason for the lower score: We had booked a month in advance and had to change from Saturday to Sunday a week in advance. This was confirmed by Tripadvisor. A day in advance the organisers said Sunday was not possible as it was overbooked and we would have to do Saturday or cancel. Absolutely ZERO support or refund, just blame Tripadvisor. We don't care who Travelling Chicken use as a distribution channel as they remain fully responsible for any marketing channel they use. This caused quite a stir as we had to rebook our other Saturday plans.
