We were advised by the hotel staff which we were staying in that the weather forecast showed rough sea conditions and that they were unable to book other guests onto other tours due to tour providers cancelling due to the sea conditions. The staff tried to contact our tour provider a number of times to check if our tour was still going ahead but was unable to get through to anyone. With the meeting point being very close to the hotel, we walked to the marina where we were greeted by a tour guide, I asked about the sea conditions and was told “it’s ok” and “not to worry”. Based on this we boarded the boat ready for the tour, as we went out to sea it quickly became apparent that the sea was rough, you couldn’t stand without being thrown around unless you were holding onto something and even them it was difficult. The smaller boats used to access the Bengali Caves were detached from the main boat and the tour guide stated it was “too dangerous” and that they must put “safety first”. The boat carried on a little bit further into sea but the sea became rougher with a loud “bang” as the boat was lifted and made contact with the waves, the boat went to the beach for the BBQ and although “unlimited” food and drink was advertised, there wasn’t a great variety and certainly didn’t feel it was “unlimited”. we weren’t expecting a open buffet or a vast amount of food however for £60 per person we certainly expected more than a bit of salad, x2 sausages, a piece of chicken and some crisps on the side. I am aware there was grilled fish for those who wanted however didn’t see and was not made aware of any other extras or even offered any more than the 1 plate. I have expressed my concerns to the tour provider and requested a refund in which they admitted no wrong doing and stated the tour followed its normal programme other than the tour of the Bengali Caves. The tour provider offered to rebook the tour however we declined as we had other plans and were flying back to the UK. They later offered a 20% refund in which we declined and suggested at least a 50% refund, there has been no correspondence from the tour provider since and I can not view messages exchanged to follow up.
