It was a lovely 5 days sail with Sailing Summercamp in the Exuma Cays, Bahamas. Having visited the Exuma Cays 15+ times before, sailing on a catamaran provided an intriguing new perspective. Captain Glenn is extremely knowledgeable of the area and showed us amazing places we had not seen before. He’s an expert captain, and also really fun & great personality! I loved hearing about all his adventures around the world.
The boat is luxuriously comfortable for just hanging out and being in the beauty of it… that electric blue water is mesmerizing.

We spent 4 magical nights with Glenn onboard Sailing SummerCamp in the Northern Exumas. We've been to the Exumas many times, but it was our first time experiencing it on a catamaran, where we could get to some even more remote sections of the islands. The boat is gorgeous and spacious. Glenn is a true expert on sailing and the Exumas - and very personable. It felt like we were in the company of a good friend. He knows all the best spots and treated us to some hidden gems. Our days were filled with sandbars, beaches, snorkeling, paddleboarding and hiking. Hearts are so full from this experience! We hope to sail with Glenn again soon.
Taking a trip with Glenn and his catamaran Summer Camp will undoubtedly be one of the best trips you've ever taken for so many reasons. Overall, his boat is beautiful, he is an extremely skillful captain, knows where to go, and is a fantastic cook if all that wasn't enough. He will should you secret places, help you explore Exumas and help you see wonders of nature no matter your age or comfort level. Don't hesitate and book a trip with him! Here are a few more specific details about our trip with him.
Our trip: Went with my elderly mother and father (> 70 years old) and my wife and I (in our 40's) on a 4 night/5 day excursion. None of us had ever been on an overnight trip on a boat or had any sailing experience. Started from Staneil Cay spent 1st day there and having dinner at Staniel Cay Yacht club and exploring island on a golf card, then night 1 staniel cay, night 2 pig island, night 3 Exuma land and sea park, night 4 compass key. Was perfect amount to get a flavor of the Exumas and its incredible beauty. A week is likely ideal for an exploration of even more areas and more relaxation, but if you don't have that much time 4 nights was great too!
Boat: the boat is a beautiful 44 ft Catamaran, with 1 large master bedroom and 2nd bedroom with queen beds each. Glenn takes immaculate care of his boat and you feel like you are on a brand new boat when you enter. Sheets were spotless, bathroom, super clean, decor in the rooms beautiful and well designed. Multiple areas to lounge in from the indoor dining table to the outdoor dining table, the hammock, the outdoor covered area in the front of the boat and even a rooftop lounge area. boat is extremely well-designed and was comfortable with 4 of us on the trip.
Captain: Glenn is an incredible captain with many many years experience sailing and we felt in EXTREMELY good hands with him as our captain. He knows the area so well and gauges which routes to take depending on the weather conditions to make the trip as comfortable as possible. Overall the entire trip was quite smooth sailing all throughout the entire time due to his navigation skills. The man is truly a beast of a human and can rock climb, ski, scuba dive, sail, run ultra marathons and ironman races. You name it, he does it.
Food: Glenn is an EXCELLENT cook, even though he likely won't brag about it. For breakfast many options available including bagels, cereals, fruits, breads, jams, etc. Lunches we usually made sandwiches and then dinner he cooked for us a nice hot meal each night including a taco night and even a chicken tikka masala night!
Service: Glenn will take care of you throughout your entire trip. He went to the store to help us get certain groceries ahead of time, he was patient in helping my elderly parents throughout the trip, knew how to help us save money at each of the marinas and was not only our captain, but also our tour guide, our cook, and even cleaned throughout the trip. He runs a one-man show beautifully and with ease
Excursions: We saw so many things on our trip all because of Glenn, he took us to Thunderball Grotto for snorkeling and came with me to guide me, taught me some basics of deeper snorkel diving, saw the original pig island, a special beach known for beautiful shells you can collect, beautiful sand bars in the middle of the ocean, hikes on cliffsides, hikes to beaches, hikes to see natural blowholes, Rachel's Bubbles (super cool natural pool), and had a kayak on board for us to kayak at warderick wells the headquarters of Exuma Land and Sea Park, and even safely swam with nurse sharks. The best part about going with Glenn is that he is always excited to show you wonders of the natural wildlife all around you. Things you would never notice he will show you. We didn't use other stuff, but he also had various floating devices, noodles, stand up paddle boards, snorkel gear, scuba diving gear, fishing gear and so much more to enhance your trip based on what you enjoy
Flexibility: Glenn is extremely flexible and will guide you based on whatever you want to see. Just have a conversation with him over the phone and he can guide you accordingly. He also does a trip to the Southern Exumas as well to more remote areas
Don't hesitate, book with Glenn and you won't be disappointed!
