Through the questioning of labels, displays, and exhibits, this tour asks participants: What is the purpose of a museum? Our tours are academically researched and led by experts. They incorporate active discussion and ask questions about historical memory, controversial statues and objects, and the impacts of imperialism on the city and university. A fascinating and intellectually stimulating tour of the Ashmolean. We were a very small group -- just two of us aside from the guide, Anja (who did a great job on her first tour!) -- which allowed for plenty of participation, discussion and friendly debate. This makes you feel much more involved and engaged than you do on a typical tour. A really interesting experience that's made me keen to check out what else Uncomfortable Oxford has to offer.
