Yala national park is situated in Sri Lanka’s south east hugging panoramic Indian Ocean. Yala is home to 44 varieties of mammal and 215 bird species. Among its more famous residents is the world biggest concentration of leopards, majestic elephants, sloth bears, sumbars, jackals, spotted dear, peacocks and crocodiles. This safari takes you as close as possible to wildlife in a private Jeep without having to worry about getting to the park from Yala. Plus, you can choose between an early morning and afternoon departure to fit into your vacation schedule.

Vi fekk sjåfør helt opp til Airbnb vår selvom den var lengre en 10.km fra parken. Sjåføren stoppa på mange kule steder og var altid klar for å stoppe om vi spurte.

Wir haben eine 1/2 und eine Ganztagestour mit Menaka Safari Jeep Tours gemacht. Die Tour war ausgezeichnet organisiert. Der Fahrer (Menaka) sehr bemüht uns möglichst viele Tiere zu zeigen. Da dies aber alle Fahrer ihren Kunden bieten möchten entstehen dadurch zum Teil sehr chaotische Verkehrssituationen. Die Tiere werden oft richtiggehend gejagt. Da wir nur alleine im Jeep waren, war es möglich uns aus diesen Foto-Hetzjagden auszuklinken und den Park mit seinen unzähligen Vogelarten zu genießen. Besonders empfehlenswert ist die Ganztagestour. Leider gibt es im gesamten Park nur eine Toilette.

Fantastic trip to Yala safari park organised through Flameback Eco Lodge. We saw elephants, water buffalo, crocodiles, peacocks, jackal, deer and eagles amongst others. Our driver was mindful we had a 2 year old with us and was careful not to drive at speed or overtake other jeeps. He was brilliant throughout the tour, pointing out all the animals and also giving them space unlike some of the other tour operators. The park was very busy to begin with then we went off the beaten track and it was a lot quieter.
