Panoramic tour of the modern city, then we will visit the Casco Antiguo, a castrato of colonial architecture, the Cathedral and the Altar de Oro, the Miraflores Locks of the Panama Canal, where you can observe the crossing of the boats and we will complement the tour through the 4 exhibition halls in homage to the eighth wonder of the modern world. The visitor center was very informative and the tour of the lock area (both old and new ) was interesting. There is plenty of parking. There is an observation deck you can watch vessels coming and going through the canal. Panama City is a very vibrant city.

We visited the Miraflores Panama Canal Centre as part of a half day tour organized by Audley Travel The centre was extremely busy, many cruise boat visitors, also we visited to see the 1345 viewing of the Panama Canal movie which is a 3D experience worth seeing. But it was full so we reversed the visit and went to see a vessel lift through the lock and then jumped into an early queue for the 1445 movie. It is worth a visit. It’s an extraordinary facility and a great story to see and hear about, worth seeing the lock working to drop the vessels down to the Pacific level of the lake and then see the movie to understand how the Canal was created. My view would actually be to visit either as early as you can to avoid the Cruise passengers who are frankly there is their hundreds after around 10.00 am ar take a late visit and hope the cruise guys have cleared off and you get the opportunity to see the operation without the crowds that we experienced. Avoid weekends at all costs. All in all a worthwhile but not cheap experience.
