Visiting Panama and not living the experience of knowing one of the wonders of the modern world. It is something that you cannot miss, the Canal is an extension of 80 KM, made up of three lock systems, two in the Pacific Miraflores and Pedro Miguel in the Atlantic, the largest of all Aguas Claras, which serve as large elevators for the crossing of the ships to our isthmus.
For its operation, the Chagres River was dammed, forming the Miraflores, Maden and Gatún lakes, this being one of the largest artificial lakes in the world.
The Panama Canal is one of the most important works of engineering in the world.
One of our guide will guide you through this amazing work and will tell you all its history.

Panama Canal Administration Building, Panama City, Panama Located on the hill of the area that comprised the Canal Zone, with Italian Renaissance style architecture taking advantage of light and natural space. It was inaugurated on July 15, 1914.
Upon entering the building, employees and visitors alike are struck by the beauty of its high, dome-shaped ceiling. Dramatic murals, columns and a marble floor make the rotunda the main attraction of the historic building. The central staircase, built with pink Tennessee marble, and the elegant mahogany banister are some examples of the luxury with which the imposing structure was built.

I really enjoyed to visit the different locks along the Panama Canal. Especially the visit at the new Locks (Aguas Clares) was really a scoop (but I could have used much more time here). And by a very good luck I saw the cruise ship (which I was going to sail onboard north via the canal two days later) heading south towards Panama City.
Everybody talk about saling on he Panama Canal. but was also very interesting for me to watch the ship movements from "the shores" of the canal.

Edgar was a knowledgeable tour guide and we were fortunate to have had him as our tour guide. However, contrary to the advertised description of the tour it does NOT include lunch. Beware of this because you will need to take a snack with you. The trip is long and you will get hungry along the way. This is important!
