    A rocky path between rugged mountain boulders The route through the gorge is characterised by thick vegetation and a particularly attractive, shady and moist environment. While hiking you can study the indigenous plants: lentisk (Pistacia lentiscus), Phoenician juniper (Juniperus phoenicea), terebinth (Pistacia terebinthus), thorny broom (Calycotome villosa), common smilax (Smilax aspera), oleander (Nerium oleander), storax (Styrax officinalis), and the endemic endangered Akamas centaury (Centaurea akamantis). The main species of fauna found in the area are: Mammals: Fox, hare, hedgehog. Birds: Cyprus wheatear (endemic), Cyprus warbler (endemic), scops owl (endemic), partridge, little owl, kestrel, wild pigeon. Reptiles: Stellion lizard. Amphibians: Marsh frog, iridescent frog, tree frog.

  • Lara Bay Turtle Conservation Station, Paphos, Cyprus
    On a secluded beach away from hotels, shops, and any public facilities, the tiny wooden Lara Bay Turtle Conservation Station helps baby turtles hatch and head for the sea. Sometimes during hatching season, there will be water tanks with tiny sea turtles inside that have just come out of their eggs at the station. At other times, you'll encounter iron cages and signs scattered along the beach warning of turtle nests buried in the sand underneath. Cages protect them from predators such as birds and foxes.

Это был замечательный тур, гид нас подгонял везде, чтобы у нас была возможность покупаться 40 минут на Голубой Лагуне, и это того стоило, гид шутил и создавал приятную атмосферу в джипе, программа насыщенная и стоит своих денег, самый лучший тур по сравнению с другими фирмами. Советую

I can recommend! We took the "Jeep Safari to Akamas National Park: Avakas Gorge Tour from Paphos" safari tour, and it was great! We've seen really a lot of places, the driver Felipe was nice and funny, so chill, we had a really good time. In the car for 10 people there were 8 of us - 7 in the back and 1 in front with the driver, so we had enough space. They picked us up on time and I'm glad I went. Ps.: listen to your guide/driver, when he tells you time because they have it all timed and they really know why ????

The morning section of the safari was a success and the route was a great introduction to the North of Western Cyprus.After a poor lunch in Latchi area the visit to the Aphrodite Baths And then the 1 hour spent on awful roads just to have a brief look at Blue Lagoon was a waste of time and really not worth the efforts of driver and visitors.
