When touring around this storied cathedral, take extra time to appreciate its noteworthy use of the flying buttresses. These revolutionary outdoor arches helped architects accommodate the soaring interior heights associated with High French Gothic. Learn about Notre Dame’s intricate frame design, and the current efforts in rebuilding it.     Continue onto Île de la Cité’s peaceful Place Dauphine. If this square looks familiar to you, then you have probably seen Place Dauphine before in a few major motion pictures like Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris. Though this square may be familiar for its more modern accomplishments, it holds an impenetrable place in history as well. This is the second oldest square in Paris, dating back to 1600. It was initiated by King Henri IV and named after his crowned prince son Louis XIII, the dauphin of France. Fantastic tour of Ile de la Cite! Hugo did a great job of providing an overview of Paris history as well as lots of details on the restoration of Notre Dame and the history of the island and the Louvre, Place Dauphine, and much more!! Hugo was open to answering a wide range of our questions and was very knowledgeable about Paris history and beyond. We highly recommend this informative, engaging, and interesting tour!

We had a fabulous private bike tour with Thomas, who took us to see the sights in Paris. Our family of 5 (kids aged 11, 14, 16) enjoyed the information and the pace in the heat wave - Thomas was very accommodating to our needs, checking for our safety on the roads, spraying us with mist if we looked hot, offering water and sunscreen. A private bike tour is the perfect way to see the sights at your pace and Thomas was a fabulous guide. We did several LivTours in Paris and Rome and would have booked more except that they had already sold out. All guides were fabulous, on time, relaible and great communication before meeting and on the day. Thanks for showing us around!!
