    Eiffle tower closed the summit level and the tour could not happen. It is unclear how to get the refund for this. Clearly it is MUCH better to buy tickets directly on the site from the Eiffel Tower kiosks because 1- they are much cheaper and 2- if you cannot go up then you don't buy it and have to spend hours getting a refund while you are on vacation.

    The guide told some history of the tower and got us in. We had tickets to the summit (top floor) and stayed until dark. Fantastic views of the city both before and after dark. Avoided long lines by doing a tour.

    It will take longer than you expect but it is worth it. Expect long delays even when you purchase a tour up front.
