On the Traces of Olympism from Saint-Martin Canal to the Seine

Too loud! Announcer was deafening!! Ride was nice but continuous screaming into the microphone was exhausting to us

Got to the stated pick up point at 2.45 for our 3pm cruise which never showed up! We called the tour provider who was absolutely no help - all they said was no one else had called so the boat must have been there. Unless it was an invisible boat it was not there. Be wary of booking this cruise as it could very well be a scam!

We enjoyed this cruise today and despite the outside temperature being about 2 degrees C it was still a very pleasant experience. This cruise does not set out to be a lunch or dining experience but rather provides a look at two worlds within Paris. The cruise begins about half way up the Canal St Martin where lots of people were taking advantage of the winter sun to sit alongside the canal. This creates a view of a part of Paris that is off the beaten tourist track but nonetheless a very pleasant area with many boutiques, an award wining Boulangerie and plenty of liveliness. The cruise boat then heads South toward the Seine, passing through a double lock to lower the level of the boat in the canal to fit under the long tunnel that links the Richard Lenoir area to the basin at Bastille. Another lock then allows the boat to proceed onto the Seine and the 'other world' of the major monuments of Paris visible from the river: Notre Dame, Ile St Louis, the Louvre, Musee D'Orsay, Place d la Concorde, the Grand Palace, the Pont Alexander and of course plenty of views of the Eiffel Tower and down to the turnaround point at the State of Liberty quarter scale replica. The cruise then moors up against the Ile de Citi allowing easy access to either Pont Nuef or Chatelet transport hubs. For the cost this is a very worthwhile two hours and the commentary is given in both French and English by the very pleasant hostess who then multi tasks as deckhand and buffet server.
