Arc de Triomphe, Paris, France
Arc de Triomphe, Paris, France A unique viewpoint. From the top of the panoramic terrace, your eyes sweep over the whole of Paris.
The revisited Antiquity. Architect Jean-François Chalgrin was inspired by the Roman Arch of Titus in a single arch, but went beyond it by exceptional dimensions (about 50 m high, 45 m long and 22 m wide) and abandoning columns.
A key place of major national events. Wanted by Napoleon in 1806, the Arc de Triomphe was inaugurated in 1836 by French king, Louis-Philippe, who dedicated it to the armies of the Revolution and the Empire. The Unknown Soldier was buried at the base of the arch in 1921. The flame of remembrance is rekindled every day at 18:30.

Could not access tickets. Could not reach anyone on the phone. Had to rebuild tickets at site. No customer service at all.

This monument is impressive. It is quite large and getting there via the Metro and the tunnel under the 12 streets was easy. It is a steep climb up a winding staircase of 284 steps, but the view is spectacular. I was pleasantly surprised to see lots of museum like information on the floor next to the very top. The video was also excellent. You should definitely do "skip the line". Please note: you must have the permissions set correctly on your cell phone for you to be able to access your tickets. That was a bit tricky, since my previous Viator communications were always via email. Hence the 4 instead of 5 stars.

We had booked Skip the Que tickets. No problem, showed tickets and made our way to the top. Well worth the climb as views were stunning, luckily it was a sunny hot day to see the beautiful city of Paris from the Arc de Triompe.
