The services includes English speaking guide or driver to pick you up from the pier, in charge of the check in at the boats office, driving you to Laredo (30 min North of Punta Arenas) where the boat leaves from). And back to the ship.
The reason why we are different, is because we are all local guides and drivers and the services are hired directly from the customer to the provider with no agencies in between.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

Wow wow wow ….so many penguins to see in their natural habitat and the boat ride to the island was an adventure!

After our first tour was cancelled, we booked this one which included pick up at the pier. The driver picked us up on time and delivered us to the tour office. He checked with the tour guide who told him the tour would definitely proceed. After MUCH confusion among other passengers, we boarded buses to take us to the pier where we were to get the boat to Magdalena Island. Halfway to the pier, the driver pulls over and says something in Spanish. Another passenger had to translate that they were cancelling the tour due to rough waters. We were turned around and taken back to the office where we were told we would receive a refund. I later received an email from the tour operator saying we would not receive the full refund because the port driver returned for us 3.5hrs later and we weren't there. I feel that since the tour operator told the driver the tour was a GO, and we certainly had NO WAY to reach the driver, the tour company should be responsible to pay him!! The port was literally 4 blocks from the office - why would we wait 3.5 hrs for the driver when the entire tour was cancelled!??? Be wary of this tour - the weather is a big factor. (We ended up taking a bus to see the penguins in Punto Tombo - definitely worth the long ride.)
