The perfect opportunity to discover a unique collection of ancient fragrance bottles. Immersed in a Second Empire atmosphere, visitors traverse three thousand years of history : Know-how of Grasse, vanished raw materials, ancient fragrant objects, the museum is a perfumer’s laboratory with rare and precious bottles from the Pharaohs to Fabergé as witnesses of social and cultural habits. Perfume making was basic but I did learn a little bit. You get to keep the small bottle, but others of our party just tossed it because they didn't love the scent. Cost is a bit high for this experience, when the tour part can be done for free. If you are considering booking the Mini perfume experience just so you can "have a reservation" my suggestion is to skip it, because you can walk up to the front desk and then go into the perfume museum for free with no advance reservation needed. They don't make that entirely clear on the website perhaps to drive folks into the Mini workshop tour. Yes our guide added some commentary in the museum portion, but we don't think it added enough to justify the cost. The Fragonard shop is another matter though - their perfume and related items prices are actually good. Prices are in range of what you might pay for a perfume or cologne at any usual shop, but with Fragonard you know it is exclusive and hard to find, so it is a good idea to buy one or more items here.

Fascinating tour on the process of perfume-making and the history of perfume in general. If you have any interest in cosmetics or are looking for a unique experience in Paris, definitely book the perfume-making class. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about fragrance. I still have my handmade perfume at home with me!

Our guide Yoko was extremely knowledgeable and kind. Although the museum is small I felt like our guide provided us with a lot of history on perfume past and present, the different types and the correct way to apply perfume. My daughter (12 years old)and I had a lot of fun making our very own perfume. I would definitely do this experience again. Plus, it right across the street from the opera house and Galleria Lafayette some extra things to do in the area.
