    The Pilanesberg Game Reserve is located just over 200km from Johannesburg and can be reached in ~2hours, making it ideal for day trips out of Johannesburg albeit with early morning starts. A typical day tour will include pick or meeting at entrance gate followed by morning drive in the park along both scenic as well as productive routes inside the park. The game reserve is unique in many ways. The park lies within the Pilanesberg Alkaline Ring Complex, a series of concentric hills that are the remnants of a long-extinct volcano. The park is home to the South African big five as well as both arid savanna species such as springbok and red hartebeest as well as buffalo, white rhino and waterbuck of the wetter savanna. Similarly, bird species found in both types of savanna can be found in the park, with over 300 species to be found in the park. Stops include breakfast and lunch before a late afternoon exit to return to Johannesburg. Park can be visited both in summer and winter!

You will not regret booking this trip! Pranesh is an absolutely amazing guide, and so fun to spend the day with. You will love his playlist and his sense of humour. He is extremely knowledgeable about the animals, the park, and South Africa in general. If you are only visiting for a limited time, this trip is a must do. Thank you again for everything, Pranesh!

Stayed over for a short period in Johannesburg and had the opportunity to visit the Pilansberg national park. Ideally located for a one day visit and had a fantastic day. Parish is an engaged and great tour guide which I absolutely recommend. Proud of "his Park" and providing all the hospitality which no big tour group van offer. Havin a cooked breakfast lunch in the morning and spotting a rhino in the back ground is just one of the moments which keep good memories. Best regards, Andre Pilanes.
