After doing research in world history, I was looking forward to seeing the remains of the oldest civilization in Caral on our visit to Peru. It was fantastic. Unbelievable remains from roughly 5000 years. Government of Peru, along with research scholars, volunteers and workers have done a great job of presenting this place in an inviting, educative, clean manner to visitors. Even the small museum was full of very surprising artifacts taken from the excavation.
The English speaking tour guide Lucas was very knowledgeable, not just of Caral but all along the 225 Km path. His assistant William was helpful as well. There is also a mandatory guide provided by the Caral center. Lucas took help from her.
A very enjoyable 12 hour trip made possible by Lucas and team. Thanks to the team that maintains the facility very well in such a remote location of Peru.
What pained us was the mandatory masking in such an open nature area, due to the COVID-19 -- not just for us but to see all the workers.
Thanks to everyone who made it educational, enjoyable and satisfying our curiosity.
