Experience Machu Picchu sustainably on a private tour from Cusco

Perfect "Bucket List" tour. The local guides (Yossimar from Cusco)(Jaime from Machu Picchu) were knowledgable and professional and gave us the personal attention that made our trip so easy and so much fun. Jaime our driver from Cusco skillfully navigated the mountainous roads to villages and ruins we didn't know existed in Peru. We were constantly being surprised with how much Cusco and the Sacred Valley had to offer. The hotels were perfectly located and fabulous...some of the best we have ever stayed in throughout the world. In Cusco we stayed at the Aranwa Hotel. Antonio our waiter and Alexander the bartender gave us superb attenion and we were overwhelmed by the collection of artifacts that the hotel displayed in its many sitting rooms. Our room featured a spa/like bath. Pakaritampu Hotel in the Sacred Valley had the most incredible mountain views from their unique grounds especially with the early morning mists. Machu Picchu Pueblo in the Sacred Valley where we spent the night is a special little village and it was fun exploring it and staying in the fabulous rainforest type hotel (Inkaterra Pueblo). Machu Picchu was even more picturesque than the photos show. And it is amazingly accessible. It was the best "photo op" vacation ever and the guides knew just what to show us.

Setours was an amazing tour agency for our trip to Peru and Bolivia. Due to the political unrest that happened in December 2022. We were actually stranded in Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu) by no fault of the agency. Setours was very informative of what our next steps should be and helped us change our itinerary in a timely and professional manner given the situation. They went above and beyond by checking on our well being both mentally and physically which made the situation stress free. The guides and drivers were informative, funny and gave great recommendations on food and were good at phone photography. They were also very attentive to our needs. The guides were quite experienced (7+ years) while the drivers were very knowledgeable about the areas they drove in (such as driving through back roads as main roads were blocked during protests). They also helped others with our permission who were travelling independently. I would highly recommend Setours as we had found them originally through Happy Gringos and we plan to book our next trip with Setours for future travels. Thank you again Setours for making our trip so memorable and relaxing given the political unrest.
