Salkantay Trek 5D/5N with Glass Cabañas, Hobbit House-Hot Jacuzzi

The Salkantay trek was an amazing experience.. Unforgetable scenery and views, and we learned a lot from our guide Ricardo. We had 5 star meals every day from our chef Pumki and porter Walter. It was a tough but rewarding 5 days topped off by the spectacular Machu Picchu.

Absolutely fantastic! Ten out of ten would recommend. Chef Ciselio was great to work with my wheat allergy. You never walked away from the table wanting. Porters Juanito and Gusto were amazing. Our guide, Jyhmy, made it all come together. He answered my many questions and made the history come alive. We all became family and this will be a memory I treasure.

What a fantastic adventure! I cannot say enough about our guide, Raul and the rest of the Alpaca Expedition’s team for the well organized and executed trip. Raul was extremely accommodating, made the trip fun and always made sure that we were enjoying ourselves while capturing it for us by taking fantastic pictures. Additionally, I was pleasantly surprised at just how knowledgeable he was about the Inca history and also everything we experienced along our trek.. the plants, fruits, trails and culture. I would highly recommend using Alpaca Expeditions and even more so Raul as a guide. Additionally, the food was fantastic and not like I’m used to on a camping trip (there is SO much food!). The team works very hard and always made sure that everyone had what the needed.. they absolutely exceeded any and all expectations. The only thing I would caution is to be prepared for the trek to be challenging and the days long. Get to Cusco an extra day or two early to acclimate, especially if this will be your first time at higher altitudes. The weather also changes rapidly and some nights you may get to your site after dark…bring proper clothing for all conditions and your headlamp.
