We stayed 2 full days in Puno and booked this tour hoping to get the best of it given our short stay in Puno.
The tour was very well organized, we left the hotel early and headed to Amantani Island by boat, it took 2 hours. During the boat trip, Miguelanguel gave us details about the trip and the region.
We liked that Amantani and Taquile were scheduled in the first part of the trip, they are less touristic and definitely worth seeing.
We also liked that despite the long journey, we stayed active, doing a hike first in Amantani, and then again in Taquille.
With the altitude (over 4’000m), the hikes felt like sport, although they were short (1h first one and 30 min the 2nd one).
Although we booked the tour in English, we spoke Spanish with Miguelangelo, another great opportunity for us to practice the language.
Miguelangelo gave us lots of interesting explanations regarding the region, the history, people’s life in the area, and also helped us buy a small handicraft piece from the people in Uros.
Lunch was organized for us in Taquille on a terrasse up in the historical village, we enjoyed the simple food, with natural ingredients which give energy (quinoa soup, omelette or fish, muna tea).
We also appreciated the conversations we had during the trip with our guide about Puno, Cuzco, Perú, and our travel experiences in other places in the world.
We got back at the hotel at 5.30pm, we felt we spent another amazing journey in Peru!
Thank you Miguelangelo!

A great opportunity for the people who can only spent one day one the lake Titicaca.
The tour started with an early visit to Amantani. Amantani is a really lovely island to visit because of it's authenticity and lack of tourists. Our English speaking tour guide Samuel grow up in one of the local communities and gave us a lot of information about the island. The hike to the top of the island (tempel Pachatata) was beautiful and challenging because of the height (4100m).
Both Taquile and Uros are more touristic but very nice to visit. We received a lot of information about the islands, the local people and their traditions. We learned about the local costumes and the building of the floating islands. The lunch at Taquile was perfect with a beautiful view over the lake.
Thank you very much Samuel for the very nice and interesting day !!
