Flavio was a great tour guide! Started with a beautiful 1 hour cruise with amazing views, then the wine tastings, which were very informative. First time trying port wines, and was not disappointed. Lunch included unlimited wine as well.

Sorry but this tour was a deceiptful disaster. We were scheduled for a pickup in Douro Valley but when we arrived a little after 9:00 AM, we were told our 9:30 pickup would be at 10:00. At 10:00 the shuttle arrived, but there was a 30 minute break to give the riders from Porto a chance to walk around. We departed at 10:30 and, after a long bus ride, we were put on a 1-hour boat ride with NO GUIDANCE to what we were seeing. Another long bus ride and, after being promised lunch and a wine tasting soon, we were tortured with a long presentation and FINALLY got lunch a little before 14:00. Following lunch, we were taken to our second "vineyard" - which turned out to be a wine shop. The presenter there (Rachael) was wonderful, but this WAS NOT a vineyard tour. It was really falsely advertised and there should be a more truthful explanation of what the participants will see and do.

I would not have given any stars if not for the guide, Susanna, at Caves Santa Marta de Penaguião. Her 30 mins tour at the winery was the highlight of our 10 hour day with CM tour. Raquel, our “CM tour guide” did the minimal on our 2-hour bus ride in. We waited 40 mins for our 1-hour boat RIDE with NO guide. Back on the bus for another 30 mins before we arrived at the first winery for our very first washroom break since 8:30am, with no prior warnings whatsoever!!! Lunch was not ordered till 2:10pm. We didn’t get to eat till close to 2:30pm. After our second wine tasting, we were rushed back on our silent bus ride back to Porto. Not much of a guided tour, I would say. Very poor planning and time management indeed.
