I never knew about these trips until they were mentioned in the itinerary. I’m glad they were mentioned. However I see the need for a description of the spots, as for example Batad and Bangaan. What can we expect from each?The local tour guide was open to me wanting to see both. I’m glad I insisted on it. Although the age of the visitors (like me) should be taken into consideration, so should their capabilities. I may be 62 years old but I run marathons so I saw myself fit to see both. Other 62 years old visitors may not be as capable as I am. Second, for future considerations I request the criteria for choice of lodging. The Labanet and the Verandah are good hotels. Labanet should still serve ice though because it was not cold in Sagada after all. It was relatively warm. Their bath towels are very small. As for Verandah, I suggest bigger pails for the bathroom because on our last morning when we woke up, there was no water (citywide), then it was off and on, weak and strong.

One of the wonders of the world, The Rice Terraces in Banaue. It is beautiful as most photos reveal. There’s the Ifugao side, photo of which is printed in the old P1000.00 ( one thousand peso bill) and the La Union side which is commonly featured in most magazines. A visit to the Cordilerra region orients one to ancient burial rites , the hanging coffins & piled coffins. It’s quite a driving distance from Manila & its totally sharp curbs zigzag roads all the way to the top & coming down. Highly recommend excellent drivers to navigate it. We were fortunate to have Jonathan from PrimeroTours to take us there w his co-driver Fritz. The scenic route in our return through Baguio will leave you in awe & speechless as to how beautiful this place is. Ignore your fear of deep ravines at the sides & heights!
