This 2-hour bamboo bike tour in Intramuros Manila gives you a good taste of what Intramuros has to offer in the cool afternoon right before sunset. We will take you up to the Bayleaf Hotel to catch the sunset while we serve you a complimentary drink. ___ To reduce the use of single-use plastic, please feel free to bring your own reusable bottle. We'll be glad to refill it with water to keep you hydrated during your tour! :) We provide alternative modes of transportation for those who can't bike. A Bambike side car with trained operator is only 1,000 PHP for up to 2 people, while a regular side car with trained operator is only 600 PHP for up to 2 people.     The gate was named after the "Parian de Arroceros", one of the earliest concentrations of Chinese merchants located across the city where the Metropolitan Theater now stands. Built in 1593, it is one of the earliest entrances to Intramuros. It became the official entrance of the Governor-General in 1764, following the destruction of Puerta Real during the British invasion. It was here that the newly appointed Governor-General received the keys of the city from the Cabildo. The Parian gate was severely damaged by artillery shelling during the Battle of Manila. Restoration begun in 1967 and completed in 1982.

We met at the Bamboo Bike shop to meet our guides and choose our bikes. A quick test ride and we were on our way. A handful of stops around Intramoros showing us the various sites and explaining the history of Manila. Our guide was very knowledgeable and used appropriate humour through the tour. We finished up at the Bay view Rooftop bar for a drink, an ideal way to have a quick chat with the others about their Philippines experience. Thanks!!

Booked this through Tripadvisor. Meet up point just by Barbaras restaurant. You got to choose your bike. Camille is very good as our tour guide. Her team made up of a few people made sure that we cross streets of intramuros safely. Im so glad i booked this as we get to see old manila. If you’re cycling is not your cup of tea you can hire someone on a tok-tok on this tour. Be careful of uneven pavements and cobbled stones in some areas. Finally you get to see a 360 degree view of manila on top of a hotel restaurant with sunset views. Dont forget to book yourself for a dinner buffet at Barbaras which was lovely and also be at the restaurant at 7pm to see the cultural show. Overall, excellent experience.

This trip was excellent. John our guide was very knowledgeable and really lovely to my sister who was nervous about cycling on the roads. The balance of cycling and sites was perfect for us. We then got the best seats in the house at the Bayleaf and watched an amazing sunset. Great trip and a fantastic social enterprise in Manila.
