We loved loved loved this bike tour of Angkor Temples, which was an amazing first day in Cambodia for our family. Our guide picked us up at our hotel in a fun, open air tuk tuk and touring began immediately with a first stop at the Angkor Ticket office. Then it was off to see the famed Angkor Wat to take millions of photos of this stunning place while receiving historical, cultural and site information from our guide, Saron, a local from Angkor city. He was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and a great photographer as well-- he took so many amazing photos of us and whatsapp'd them all, which we appreciated so much. We biked mostly on local dirt paths but also on paved paths and roads around temples. The local dirt paths were a bit muddy in some parts with it being rainy season, which actually made it more adventurous and fun, plus the mountain bikes were great quality. We biked through the jungle, saw local market life along the way, ran into some monkeys, and even surprised some ladies foraging for mushrooms! Biking was an amazing way to see the temples and get a little taste of local life inside Angkor city. Even though it was hot and muggy, there's a constant refreshing breeze when you're biking. Saron kept us hydrated and fed so well (cold water, fresh coconut stop, lunch, tropical fruit break)
We enjoyed spending the day with Saron and having time to explore each temple!
