The Silver Pagoda is considered grand and magnificent because there is no other place in the world where you can see such significant spectacles of historical treasures. In addition to the fantastic and somewhat, dazzling grandeur, it is also a place of worship and temple.

    Continue to National Museum. Cambodia's National Museum offers a charming setting for a stunning collection of ancient Khmer art. Predominantly constructed of sandstone, the sculptures date from both the Angkorean and pre-Angkorean eras. These exhibits are complemented by more recent examples of Cambodian art. The museum is housed in a terra-cotta-roofed structure of traditional Cambodian design, which was built between 1917 and 1920.

  • Wat Phnom, Phnom Penh, Cambodia
    Next up, you visit Wat Phnom. The temple has a strong connection with establishment of the capital city of Cambodia. The current name of the city Phnom-Penh in native language means literally the hill of Ms. Penh. According to a legend, a woman named Penh found a lot of little statues of Buddha in the river, and established the first settlement. She had the Wat Phnom temple built on the nearby hill to celebrate the Buddha statues found in the river. It is widely believed that the Wat Phnom temple was built in 1373. At approximately 12:00 pm, you'll arrive back at your hotel in Phnom Penh city area where the tour will end.

Let me start off by saying our tour guide was AMAZING - she was kind, knowledgable and wanted to help make it a memorable day. However, we do feel that this tour was a rip off after looking at similar prices for private tours and the distances we were driven to. You could hire a private guide for 50 and take a tuk tuk around, and we paid four times that - it seems like just for a private driver in a car with AC to drive us in a four mile radius. Also, the tour did not say that our guide would not also be able to take us around the national museum, so we were told on the fly that a local guide would take us around and we should tip him - which we did not plan for and ended up having to give him 10 as that was all we had. That seemed very odd to us for the price we were paying. The tour includes entrance fees but those only added up to about 40.50 for the two of us, again not enough to justify the steep price tag. We made the best of it and had a great day, especially since we were a little tired of group tours, but wanted to give some food for thought for other travelers looking at this tour.
